Day 93: Ask AI to expose the assumptions hiding in your draft.
A draft can sound polished while quietly depending on claims the reader may not accept. Instead of asking AI to rewrite it, ask for an assumption audit: “Read this draft without rewriting it. List five assumptions I am making about the reader, the problem, the evidence, or the proposed solution. For each one, quote the exact phrase that creates the assumption and tell me what question a skeptical reader might ask.”
Paste in an email, proposal, post, or presentation section, then review the list yourself. Mark each assumption as supported, unsupported, or irrelevant; add evidence where it is supported, soften the claim where it is not, and remove anything the reader does not need. Finish with: “Now identify the single assumption most likely to weaken trust, and suggest three ways I could fix only that part.” This keeps AI in the role of critic while you remain the editor and decision-maker.
Tomorrow, we’ll turn a messy screenshot into a clean action list.
