Day 8: Use AI to summarize your overflowing inbox in 30 seconds

Share

If your inbox feels like a to-do list written by five different people, this is a good AI use case.

Instead of reading every message one by one, paste your recent inbox into AI and ask it to turn the mess into a clean triage summary.

Try a prompt like this:

"Summarize these emails into 3 sections: urgent replies, important but not urgent, and FYI only. Then give me the top 5 actions I should take next, with a one-line reason for each."

That turns a pile of scattered messages into a decision list.

You can make it even better by adding:
- flag anything that sounds time-sensitive
- group similar requests together
- pull out anything waiting on my reply
- draft short reply suggestions for the top 3 items

The point is not to let AI answer your whole inbox for you.

It is to get out of reaction mode faster.

You still make the decisions.
AI just helps you see the shape of the work before the work takes over your morning.

If your inbox is overflowing, don’t start by reading more.
Start by summarizing smarter.
